Kismat Konnection produced with a budget of Rs 200 million has already grossed Rs 270 million. The Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan starrer is a big hit among youths both India and abroad.
When the film was launched it was laughed at by critics who said that it was a peculiar Aziz Mirza film that was doomed to bleed at the box office. They said that there will be no takers for the film.
Fortunately for Mirza, Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan, the opposite is happening. The viewers have only superlatives to describe and add mashaallah and subhanallah after coming out of the movie halls.
Now people are not talking about Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na as the only hit of the season. Kismat Konnection has become the talking point. The critics are amazed that how an NRI love story can be such a big hit in the year 2008 when they did not give it a chance.
Despite being opened for more than a week, the film’s collection is around 80 percent. On weekends it goes even higher. If box office indications are true, the film is going to be a bigger hit than Aamir Khan Productions’ Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Main.
